Job Summary:

This role will lead all internal investigations into alleged misconducts. This is a stand-alone, individual contributor role, working closely with Human Resources and internal Legal teams. It reports to the regional leads. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct investigation into misconducts and employee allegations (through companies reporting forums)
  • Review related documentation, notify involved employees, conduct interviews
  • Recommend and implement curative measures and regulations
  • Advise senior leadership on risks and solutions
  • Work closely with outside counsel on potential support
  • Provide internal trainings and guide other employees involved in the investigation, namely Human Resources and other attorneys on the team
  • Work closely with employee relations (HR) and legal teams
  • Report findings and solutions back to regional level
Knowledge and Requirements:
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Investigations, compliance, ethics experience needed. Labor related knowledge is preferred
  • Comfortable addressing sensitive and personal, ethical matters
  • Able to work independently, in a diverse environment 
  • Excellent oral and written communications
Educational  Qualification:
  • Degree in law
  • Qualification in Japan is preferred but open to foreign qualified attorneys as well
  • Native Japanese, Fluent English skills
Skills and Work Experience:
  • Needs at least 10 years of legal experience, preferably related to investigations, labor or litigation
